Briar Patch Nursery, Biggleswade
We are happy to announce that planning permission has been granted for a new agricultural warehouse, visitor centre/café, and rose display garden at Briar Patch Nursery in Biggleswade. This follows several other successful applications on the site including residential accommodation, offices, and retail space.
The rose display and trials area will be open to the public all year round and will be free to enter; it will display the historic collection of Harkness & Chessum rose varieties and will become the global testing facility in research and development for new rose varieties that the business launches.
The visitor centre is intended to be used as an educational hub for small groups of pupils, showing them how roses are grown.
The café will serve the retail centre which is to be developed as part of the Class R permitted development approval on the existing warehouse to the south.
