Hartwell Farm, Cranfield
Following pre-application negotiation with Central Bedfordshire Council, DLA are pleased to have secured Listed Building Consent for a sympathetic extension to a Grade II listed farmhouse. The extension will provide a utility area, a bathroom, and additional residential floorspace to provide flexible accommodation for family members involved in the management of various business enterprises at the site.
A simple flat-roofed, timber-framed glazed link will connect the existing extension and the proposed addition. The south and north-facing gable elevations of the proposed extension will be clad in dark stained weatherboarding. The remaining portions of the north and south elevations, as well as the east-facing rear elevation, will be constructed in bricks to match the existing extension. The hipped roof will be clad in clay tiles to match the existing. All windows, doors, and glazed link will have timber frames.
