The How, Houghton Road, St Ives
The site comprises a Grade II listed building set in extensive grounds. it borders a Conservation Area and TPO trees cover the site. Previously permissions had been granted for 7 new dwellings. DLA, acting on behalf of New Stay Homes and working with a range of other consultants, held an extensive series of meetings with the Council’s Officers both at the pre-app stage and during the course of the planning application.
By working closely with the Council, the team were able to overcome a wide range of issues and develop a scheme for 19 houses within the grounds of the listed building that gained Officer support. The Planning Committee then made a unanimous resolution to grant planning permission subject to completion of a S106 agreement.
