The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead

The team were pleased to be instrumental in securing planning permission for an indoor snowdome, to replace an existing outdoor dry ski slope at St Albans Hill, in Hemel Hempstead. Located on a site of 2.5ha, the building, which is now operational is over 10,300sqm in size. It incorporates one of the largest ‘green’ roofs in the UK, covering the entire building. Located on a prominent, sensitive site, abutting a residential area and within a designated ‘open land’ area, the development posed many planning challenges which were successfully resolved and the approved scheme received support from both local residents and the officers and Members of the planning committee.
