Berkeley Close, Abbots Langley

Last week, DLA secured planning permission for a two-storey side extension and a single storey rear extension to create a new dwelling in the village of Abbots Langley. The application site consists of an end of terrace property with additional space to the side and is situated within an established residential area with good access to local amenities. The site had a previously refused appeal due to under-provision of parking and lack of a viability report. However, both of these issues were addressed in the revised application, and this combined with our arguments focusing on the Council’s lack of a 5-year housing supply, the sustainable location of the development, and how the proposal would retain elements of the existing street scene led to a successful permission.
