Ivel Court, Letchworth Garden City

Following North Herts District Council’s Planning Committee last Thursday evening, DLA gained another successful permission following a unanimous vote of approval. The development in question is adjacent to Ivel Court, in Letchworth Garden City and will see the redevelopment of a car park to provide 24 apartments with landscaping, access, and parking.

Within our arguments, we drew upon the fact that the site constituted previously developed land and therefore should be considered as a preferred location for development in line with Local Plan policies and the NPPF. The application site is also situated in a sustainable location and with the LPA only being able to demonstrate a 1.3-year housing land supply, there is an urgent need for development land in the area. Moreover, the development will also provide 8 affordable homes in line with local policy.
