Noke Lane Business Centre, St Albans

DLA successfully obtained approval for 28 flats in the green belt. We argued that the site would not cause substantial harm to the openness of the Green Belt, as the development would re-use previously developed land and contribute to meeting an identified affordable housing need within the area of St Albans. The permission allows for the demolition of the existing business unit and this would be replaced with 2-storey, L-shaped premises which would include 5 x studio; 12 x 1 bed; and 11 x 2 bed units. Within this mix, 9 units are affordable.
