Highfield Road, Sandridge

Last month, we received planning permission for a dwelling in the village of Sandridge. The new dwelling is 97.6% larger than the existing (also a replacement dwelling) but we successfully argued that the context of other large extensions and replacement dwellings in the vicinity constituted Very Special Circumstances to outweigh any harm to the Green Belt. The house is to be repositioned on the plot to allow for a more spacious entrance and we made clear that this would not be contrary to the pattern of development in view of the houses abutting the rear of the site.
